Aftenposten: http://oslopuls.aftenposten.no/musikk/article581766.ece

Music journalist Svein Andersen wrote this review in Aftenposten about “Chapels & Bars” (the main conservative newspaper i Norway) :

It seems that this lady never makes mistakes, at least in a musical context.

Together with Backbone and especially guitarist Morten Omlid they have found their own expression. An exquisite guest list including Bjorn Berge, L. Tuva Syvertsen and Sven Zetterberg reinforce the distinctive character further and shows us the tension in the genre.

It is a pleasure to follow Rita Engedalen travel in blues multifaceted world. She understands the blues essence and knows how to translate this knowledge to vital music. And when she ends with the gospel song “Holy land” in conjunction with the Coahoma Community College Choir from Clarksdale and cautious, “Epilogue, bless the hours” – the word poor.

But before that, she has given us a variety of travel with one climax after another. The glow of her music gets your blood pumping.

Svein Andersen, Aftenposten
